I would like to keep up with the news of Konkona and keep you all posted as well. Currently, Konkona is in a short break . Today I read an interview at NDTV about her upcoming film "Mirch" where she also talks about her pregnancy and about her upcoming movies.

In fact the most delightful portion of the interview may be this:

"I will definitely be back to acting after my delivery. Right now, no one will hire an actress with a big belly."

Iti Mrinalini.. (An Unfinished Letter) is Aparna Sen's latest film , starring Konkona SenSharma in title role. It was premiered at 12th MAMI International Film Festival 2010 and will have an international premiere at the Cairo International Film Festival, starting from November 30. For theatrical release, may be in mid of 2010.

It has been so long for Konkona's new films in cinema. Here is her next release , "Mirch" , which will be in theater on 10th Dec. The film is already premiered at the "I View Film Festival" and won the 'Popular Choice (Best Film)Award' .

The film is directed by Vinay Shukla and,which revolves around four short stories based on issues of women emancipation while Konkona SenSharma stars in two of these short stories ( as Rajasthani Princess and modern day woman).

Of course, I am die to watch it!

It's a breaking news! The two talented ladies of Indian cinema, Tabu and Konkona SenSharma are to be seen sharing screen space in a film named "20, 30, 40".

The article states that, the film is produced by Nazim Rizvi and he has approached both actresses ,who have agreed to work in the film.

This storyline is about three women belonging to three different age groups of 20, 30 and 40. Tabu will play a women belonging to the 40 age group while Konkona has been chosen for the 30 year character. The search for the actress portraying the 20 age group is still on and no one has been finalized.

However, both ladies are too talented at their respective films and this will be great ( for the audience ) the ladies to meet and fight it out on screen.
For me I am too excited for both ladies and it will definitely be interesting to see who wins, na ?

The unfair and disgraceful "Star Screen Awards Nominations" are out a few days ago, and Konkona didn't get a single nomination. But for recently out "Apsara Awards List" she get best actress nominee for "Wake Up Sid". It's seen like her performance for "Luck by Chance" is neglected at all (but may be for others annul awards).

Here, I want to set a pool for the Best Actress just with Konkona SenSharma for two different films, since I feel she is only competing with herself in every film.

Personally , one of my favorite performances of last year. Since she performs at her brilliant best with realism being at the crux of her versatility.

Konkona SenSharma as Aisha Bannerjee for "Wake Up Sid"

May be her biggest box-office hit so far, here "Wake Up Sid" , Konkona plays as a mature, ambitious , independent , modern Indian woman. For me I love the film ,because of it's sweet romance and admire Konkona for the various emotions that she can pull-off. A pleasing change from all the eye-candy mainstream actresses who have flooded Bollywood of late.

So, please vote the pool , whether she is better in LBC or in WUP . (I've voted for LBC! )

Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge : First Look

Here the first look of Konkona's next year release "Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge" : a comedy film co-starring "Ajay Devgan" and "Paresh Rawal" .

The film is about an unwanted guest enters the household of a married couple lives for a long duration by continuously extending his stay. So much so, that the couple is exasperated and starts praying for his exit. The movie is scheduled to release on February 26, next year.

Among a few Konkona's upcoming films, the most awaited one for me is "Iti Mrinalini" , a film by "Aparna Sen", life of an actress whose career spans two decades, starting from the 1950s. The Time of India has an articel about the film,where Konkona plays the younger version of the actress.

It includes the first still I've seen from the film, in which Konkona with her c0-star Shaheb Bhattacharjee (who plays Mrinalini collage love interest), uploaded above. There is still no release date, hopefully for a fall next year release.

Watching "Wake up Sid" is like visiting an oasis while living so long in a desert. I really delighted every single moments of Konkona on screen ; while she leads from the front with her simple yet gorgeous looks. Now, we've got a glimpse of the upcoming "Wake Up Sid'', Konkona SenSharma's second film of the year. Despite of it's promising trailer , I hope the film itself make the own distinguished history ( may be critically or commercial) . I ( actually we all ) love Konkona's looks in glamor ways and the unusual pair (Ranbir & Konkona) can share the great on-screen chemistry.

Here is the Konkona's character outline (by Sid's point of view) -

"God, there's so much to say about Aisha... She's new to Mumbai, and completely infatuated with the city. She left everyone and everything she knew in Kolkata to go after her dream of becoming a writer for this cool urban magazine called Mumbai Beat. She's creative, ambitious, focused, driven, brave... phew, basically everything I'm not!"

Her character is obviously serious ,smart , intelligent and thinking middle-age woman , and story line on how she fall in love with such lazy , fun and doing-nothing guy will be really interesting. And the way how they will menage their relationships , may be the best part of movie.

Overall I hope she has a big juicy role, and I can't wait to see the film.

Pressure to be Skinny !

It would be safe to say Konkona SenSharma's talent is possibly the best thing since hot coffee on a rainy night and it's clear no one can have enough. But is there a certain kind of pressure to be skinny since she stepped into the shoes of typical Hindi film heroine?

She is currently working in Karan Johar's next "Wake up Sid" and his decision to star Konkona as the leading lady is surprised by many. Karan Johar loves to present his leading ladies as glamor dolls although this movie revolves around a good looking guy (Ranbir) who falls for an older, simple woman (Konkona). So, Karan lived up to his vision by not just hiring fashion designer Manish Malhotra to give Konkona a new look, but he also made her lose weight for the role.

But in few months old article, the creators of "Wake up Sid" didn't satisfied with their heroine looks and they politely requested her to re-shoot some scenes, but Konkona refused to re-shoot them. She proudly declares that they will get her just the way she is. I am, personally, glad that she stood her own ground.

But in Time of India article, after all the shooting is finished, Konkona went back to her original weight and a day’s patch work is needed. So Karan Johar, ask her to take her weight loss program again. He is of the opinion that since it is patch work, the difference in Konkona’s physical appearance will clearly be seen and he does not want that. This shooting is scheduled for the end of August and Konkona remained unavailable for comment.

Konkona SenSharma has a degree in English from St. Stephen's College, Delhi which she received in 2001. But not many people know that it was in the college Audi that she actually learn all about acting. In recent interview on Time of India, Konkona admits it.

"I was a member of the Dramatics Society in St Stephen’s and that was where I picked up the nuances of acting. The practice sessions during the college days laid the foundation for my acting. Each of my deserving performances is because of what I learn at college"

Today song is cute bit of sweetness from Konkona's classsic Luck By Chance - "Yeh Aaj Kya Ho Gaya?" . I absolutely love song which begins on a happy note, courtesy the lively arrangements and the overall feel good factor of the number.

This songs capture on beautiful Konkona , after spending their first night with her new boyfriend, and she keeps romancing with her dreams. This also highlights some of the cuter aspects of her character , Sona Mishra, that are on display in the first half of this film, before all her dreams are broken.

There had been a long silence , for this blog. This doesn’t mean I lost interest in Konkona , and I still pay attention on her news and films. Thanks for reading, and I'm looking forward to getting back in touch with all of you, since now.

Here are a few interesting news items to get started:

Konkona-Ranbir starred “Wake up Sid” will be released on 2^nd October this year. Official website is already lunched (unfortunately there is no first look for Konkona’s character) and the first promo will released on 14^th of August with Vishal Bharadwaj’s “Kaminey”. Konkona’s character in the film named, Ayesha Banerjee, who has just finished her Master's, has come to Mumbai to become a writer and then she meets a complete opposite person (Ranbir Kapoor).

Konkona will play do double role for the first time in "Mirch", being directed by Vinay Shukla, also starring Raima Sen and Shahana Goswami. Konkona will play as a Rajasthani queen and a today’s contemporary woman.

Moreover, she will stars in Aanand L Rai’s film “Tanu Weds Manu” opposite R. Madhavan.

Another interesting news is that Konkona will star in Aparan Sen’s next, again opposite R. Madhavan, and Suzanne Bernert in offered to play the role of close friend of Konkona. This film is about an aging actor who attempts suicide! Interesting na?

Will Konkona star in Kannada Film ?

There is a rumour that Konkona SenSharma will star in new Kannada movie "Shikari " directed by Abhay Sumha, opposite Mammootty.

Konkona was offered for the leading role and still she hasn't comfirmed yet. The movie plot is based on the pre- and post Independence era and hopefully heroine will get great role.

Konkona is likely to accept and may be this will be her first South Indian Film, although her Southern looks are already on screen since "Mr. and Mrs. Iyer" .

Hopefully this will work out and we will see her in more solid-layered characters.

Moreover, I haven't watched her "Luck by Chance": which got the critically acclaimed but seen to be box office failure :( . Anyway Konkona was highly praised and I am so pleased for just for this.

Konkona has few of interesting projects, in future. I have resorted to the very good question: which of Konkona's upcoming projects are you looking forward to the most?

Sunglass: Directed by Rituparno Ghosh , his very first comedy film. Finished filming and heard having some release problems . In which Konkona as leading lady alongside ,R. Madhavan , Jaya Bachchan and Naseeruddin Shah.

Right or Wrong :Another commercial flick again Konkona as leading lady co-starring are Sunny Dole , Ishaa Koppikar , Irfan Khan and Deepal Shaw, expected to release later this year.

Luck by Chance :Directed by most promising debut director Zoya Akhtar. Another films based on Bollywood Industry having others interesting stars casts like Farhan Akhtar , Juhi Chawla , Dimple Kapadia , Isha Sharvani and Rishi Kapoor. Having the item song that will have huge special appearances stars after "Om Shanti Om".

Shantaram : One of world wide most awaited film of the year, having a very small dramatic sense of Konkona. Mira Nair's ambitious projects have no more news about her role.

Hard to believe, but my blog is one year old today. How the days files fast .

The last year was a very good one for Konkona , definitely most people recognize her as India's best actress and having a rapid growth in Bollywood . Getting her second Filmfare awards and National Awards and so on.

Thanks for the readers and fans of Konkona and there will be a lot to talk about with all of Konkona's new projects, and I look forward to hearing from you all.

After confirmed , to romance with youngster Ranbir , Konkona is ready to romance with three men .
Recently , Mumbai Mirror reports that Konkona signed with Percept Picture Company for a film named "Fantastic". This is a romantic comedy , directed by screenwriter turned director "Sanjay Chhel".

In the film Konkona will play interesting role of today's society woman and have the romance with Rahul Khanna (who plays a millionaire) , Javed Jaffrey and veteran comedian Paresh Rawal. Moreover ,Neha Dhupia will play in a pivotal role.

These days, such kind of goods news comes along with Konkona. Ranbir Kapoor is all set to star opposite Konkona Sen Sharma in a film that will be produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Production.

This film will be directed by Ayaan Mukherjee , having working title "Wake up Sid" and The subject of film revolves around a good looking young guy (Ranbir) who falls for an older not so attractive woman (Konkona).

We know Farhan as a talented commercial director. But now he do his actor debut with Konkona Sen in Zoya Akthar's "Lucky by Chance". This film is about a struggling actor comes from Delhi to Bombay and enters the Hindi film industry and Konkona play the leading lady with supporting casts like Juhi Chawla , Dimple Kapadia , Isha Sharvani and Rishi Kapoor.

When the films like "Dus Kahaniyaan" and "Mumbai 10" comes across India , here is another anthology film which is the more international. There's a new anthology hitting screens this year called "8" It has bunch of interesting directors attached. There are the likes of Jane Campion, Gael Garcia Bernal, Mira Nair, Gus Van Sant, and Wim Wenders, plus Gaspar Noe, Abderrahmane Sissako, and Jan Kounen.

Recently states that Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranvir Shorey will tie in Mira Nair's short film for this project , titled "How Can It Be?" . This short film concentrates the subject of gender equality and Konkona will play the character named "Zeinab". So wait for coming news about this film and wait for Konkona more international film career. Look away Koko !

I really miss my blog during my vaction time which is about two month. In my country , Myanmar, where the Internet connection is very poor and I am totally out of date about Konkona , even don't know she won her second Filmfare Award.

As far as I know , currently Konkona is exciting for her first Comedy Film "Sunglass" , having the big project "Luck by Chance" . Moerover Konkona will do the film "Bubblegum" by debutant director Anil Sharma ; where she paired with her Mr. and Mrs. Iyer c0-star Rahul Bose :which also stars Irrfan Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Rahul Khanna and Payal Rohatgi in lead roles.

Then, Konkona will play a Bengali writer and social activist in her film "The President is Coming ", which is based on Kunaal Roy Kapoor’s popular play by the same title.

Hopefully in future, we can expect to see her more on silvery screen in both Commmercial and

Konkona Sen Sharma will be seen in her first television commercial for Horlicks, formulated the drink especially for women and is available in two exciting flavors - chocolate and caramel. The drink contains no added sugar and is low in fat. This drink is recommended for women between 19 and 50 years of age .

Konkona at Kunal Basu's "Japanese Wife" Book Launch

February 4 , 2008 , Konkona attended the event to launch Kunal Basu's book on Aparna Sen's forthcoming film The Japanese Wife with her mother and Ranvir Shorey at JW Marriott, Juhu, Mumbai .

As I mentioned , the Japanese wife is the Aparna Sen forthcoming film starring Rahul Bose and Raima Sen. This book is earlier launched at the Singapore Writers Festival and now released from Harper Collins. ( I looking for this book in Singapore , but still not avalible here) .

As usual, Konkona wore a long black full sleeve cotton jacket with blue wide leg jeans and open toe black sandals while her mother looked regal in a tassar silk saree and a brocade blouse.

Unfortunately , Konkona lost her Star Screen trophy again. But there are a few award functions left and I hope she will tie with in one of these.

I found an information at indiafm.com that Konkona will star in remake of Goutam Ghose's Paar : the original film starring Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah and both win National Awards respectively. Even without reliable sources , I hope this project will come out.
Meanwhile , I am seriously looking forward Aparna Sen's The Japanese Wife : unusual love story based on the novella by Kunal Basu . I haven't read any works of him but I am looking for this book , which will has been published soon. Even Konkona will not stars this film , I hope this will wonderful film like Aparna early works. And also I feel Raima Sen is awesome too.

Now , Omkara prequel ?

Last 2006 is the year of sequel and may 2008 be year of prequel ! Vishal Bhardwaj’s masterpiece Omkara was praised by critics and audience as also included the brilliant of all the star-casts including Konkona Sen.

Now producer Kumar Mangat states that they are in process of working on a prequel and they just hope things fall in place before it takes off. Wow , interesting na?

Currently the director Mr.Bhardwaj is now in Pune to work on a script, and that it maybe be the script for the prequel.

What will be in Omkara's prequel ? In my opinion, there is no space for Dolly and may be the love (relationship) between Indu and Langda . Hopefully this project takes out and Konkona will get the leading role instead of her supporting role in Omkara.

Happy New Year for All ,

At the end of a year , like other I am wishing the coming up years will be the best of all.
In 2007 , Konkona make herself as an actress in mainstream Hindi film industry . Only one box-office success from four films of Konkona , doesn't dim her star-power.
Her performances , glamorous looks and new style attracts more Marsala film in the future.
For my suggestions, stop playing second fiddle and more meaningful projects , please.

This article ,states Konkona will play a small but vital part in Mira Nair's Shantaram. I still very excited for her more than Konkona herself. Konkona first step to Hollywood. Even though Konkona is Mira's first choice for "The Namesake" , finally Tabu stepped in. Anyway I am really excited this film since I have been read the novel.

Acclaimed director Mira Nair's confirmed that "In addition to Johnny Depp and Amitabh Bachchan, I'd confirmed Irrfan Khan in a major role and Konkona Sen for a one big dramatic scene. I've also been in talks with Prabhudeva, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade and Ranvir Sheorey. I'd also love to work with Pankaj Kapoor. We have such an extraordinary bunch of great actors in India!"

I got that news this morning, just before I go and sit for my exam. But for this big project of Konkona, my tired mind get refresh.
A Time of India article states, Konkona signed for Zoya Akhtar directional debut film Luck by Chance , opposite Farhan Akhtar aslo his actor debut. Actually this is really a big project on India Film Industry different from "Om Shanti Om" and "Khoya Khoya Chand".A lots of actors and actresses are approached for the lead roles like Hrithik Roshan, Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor , Karishma Kapoor and recently Tabu. But Tabu want to change some scripts and finally Zoya signed Konkona.

Hopefully this film comes mid of 2008 and we will see Konkona in meaningful role again.

I just finished watching Pradeep Sarkar's film "Laaga Chunari Mein Daag" which can consider Konkon's first song and dance Hindi film masala. Konkona is just the second leads after Rani Mukherji but her role get some goodies. I personally don't like this film especially for the final parts which are not balanced with the circumstances . But I love Konkona's looks so much as well as her performances. (All performances are A grade) .Look here are Konkona's looks and her performances. She is simply beautiful and stylish.

Sunglass

Awaited film by art house director Rituparno Ghosh having very attractive casts like Jaya Badhuri , Raima Sen ,Naseeruddin Shah and Tamil superstar R. Madhavan. This film will have two versions: Hindi and Bengali and Konkona will be leading lady in both. This film is about extra-marital affair and hopefully this will release in early 2008.

Right Ya Wrong

Another commercial flick again Konkona as leading lady. Co-stars are Sunny Dole , Ishaa Koppikar , Irfan Khan and Deepal Shaw. Report states that Konkona palys a lawer , Sunny'swife and hopefully this will not be neglected.

Konkona in Aaja Nachle !

After the controversies release of Aaja Nachle, and reading such a very bias reviews from various websites, I became so upset. A movie of fun , great acting ( of course Madhuri , and very brave performances from Konkona) , also drama in entertaining way was emerged as disappointment.

Even worse films became hits, this movie is reviewed as flop. I really cannot understand the audiences feedback and analysis.Simply I want to say that "Aaja Nachle" is one of the most entertaining films I have been watched. Drama , songs and dances , beautifully featured love and loss also rootlessness of NRI , just wow.

For performances , everyone is Ok , of course you have to take note that this is neither art film nor reality show , just house-whole entertaining film. Madhuri's wonderful (still youthful) come back is really nice and I really want to see her more.Kunal is ok and looks cute in his naughty guys shoes. Other supporting casts are alright and such a wonderful songs and setting.

Surely the most celebriting thing after Maduri is Konkona. She is very brilliant and none of today Mumbi actresses cannot do her role. Her running nose tomboy acts (aslo cannot sing and dance) make me more crazy for her. Also her dancing at very first scenes are really funny and we cannot stop laughing. She make herself fool and don't mind us for laughing her. I love you more Konkonji. And the last scenes are alos well shot and I really enjoy the film.

Even some states that Konkona is over acting , Konkona works is not great her previous ones : I am very glad to see u as a vistile actress Koko. So just keep it up and give us more meaningful movies. Good Luck for You.

What's going through your mind right now?
I am very excited and dying to see the film's reaction. I've just seen the film and it's come out better than the best. It was such fun to shoot that it was evident from the film.

Was working with Madhuri like working with any other co-star you've worked with before?
When you are on the sets working with Madhuri Dixit, you tend to forget that she is 'The Madhuri Dixit' because she is so normal. Honestly speaking, she is unassuming, very friendly, very considerate. There was a time when my knees were hurting and she came forward like any other friend and offered her help. Yes, it was special to be working with her because I never thought that my wish to work with her would come true one day.

Again with Kunal Kapoor...or....Not again!
No, not at all. He is a great co-star to work with and very funny. We are romancing each other in this film too like you saw us in Laaga Chunari Mein Daag but in a different context all together. Here you will see a lot of humour and laughter in our roles here.

Did you say 'Yes' to Aaja Nachle because of Madhuri Dixit or Yash Raj Films?
The first time I read the script, I did not know that Madhuri Dixit was in the lead. Her presence in the film was given to us in the later stage. I didn't even meet Anil Mehta in the beginning. It was Aditya Chopra who narrated me the idea. I heard his thoughts and Aaja Nachle came across to me as a very warm-hearted film and a story with a lot of soul. I like it from that stage onwards and then came all the surprises when I found out that Anil Mehta was directing it and Madhuri was to play the lead. As one says - It just got better and better.

How was it to share screen space with Madhuri?
Madhuri shares screen space with not only me but all of us, whether it's Kunal, Ranvir, Vinay Pathak or Raghuveer Yadav. Sharing screen space with Madhuri is just so unbelievable. She is right in front of you and you tend to go speechless when she delivers her lines. She is an inspiration to watch and when you watch this film you will know exactly why.

How was Anil Mehta as a director?
Anil Mehta is extremely relaxed and laid back. He isn't one of those who shouts and stresses on the sets and it's so easy to work in such an environment where your director is calm and focused. He is very creative too and all of us had a memorable time working with Anil Mehta.

In your recent past, we've seen you play very lively and vivacious characters. Is Aaja Nachle going to be repetitive?
I don't frankly think that any of them have been repetitions in the past either whether it's 15 Park Avenue or Page 3 or Laaga Chunari Mein Daag. Lively and vivacious aren't the generic terms to describe the roles I've played so far. I think they are versatile. Aaja Nachle too in a cliched way is 'zara hatke'.

Are we going to see you complete a hat-trick with Yash Raj Films after Aaja Nachle?
For the time being, I have only been offered Laaga Chunari Mein Daag and Aaja Nachle. Let's see what happens in the future with Yash Raj Films.

What's so different about Yash Raj Films than other banners?
I think the biggest advantage of working with Yash Raj Films as a producer is that they do not bring their 'Yash Raj' presence on the sets. They make sure that everything goes smoothly and on time and let the actors and directors do the things.

Any memorable behind the scene incidents you'd like to share with us?
We all used to bring home made food on the sets and then get together at lunch time in one room and share our food with each other. Now this is quite rare and it doesn't happen in any film. That was a good bit of bonding for us. I also remember on the first day when I went to see how the choreography of the film was, I fainted and died but it lasted only for that day. Then I got used to it and got better and better at it.

Don't you think Aaja Nachle's true star is the choreographer?
Yes, certainly. Vaibhavi Merchant is instrumental to the film. It's all about singing and dancing but what Madhuri plays in the film is a choreographer's role and all that comes from Vaibhavi herself. She is indeed an inspiration for all of us.

Describe your role in Aaja Nachle.
I play a tomboy in this film who is called Anokhi. She is someone who is really funny and endearing. Anokhi is very enthusiastic but she just can't sing or dance to save her life. She is dying to join Madhuri's troupe of dancers but only after 'jee-tood mehnat' (working hard) she gets to join and eventually learns to dance and sing.

Any message for your fans?

"If you were given a chance to direct a remade of a Classics, which one would it be, who would you cast and why?"

Konkona Sen Sharma: "I don't really want to remake a classics but just for the sake of fantasy, I would choose Satyajit Ray's "Charulata" because I've always dreamt of playing the role. Of course , I would cast myself as Charulata. Since I am too lazy to act and direct, I would let someone else direct. And the rest of the cast has to be the same as original. I don't want any change."

Same with me , I really want to see Koko play the Madhabi Mukherjee Classic role as lonely and heart-breaking wife .Hopefully someone will make this dream true.

Now, Konkona Sen join joined Cotton World in their move to introduce cotton bags for the shoppers and do away with plastic bags. The proceeds from the recyclable bags will go directly to CRY. She says "I am known to wear cotton and khadi. I personally don't like synthetic. I think it is something to do with Delhi University days." At event she wears simply sans jewelry ,make-up and also a white cotton empire waist tunic with high neck and a deep slit in the front, three fourth sleeves with pin tucks and dark blue jeans.

As I mentioned, Konkona is nominated for "Dosar" and now she win ! Konkon was given the award at a glittering function on Sunday night by Madhur Jaffrey. The award carries a cash prize of $10,000.

South Asian film festival opened in New York with the screening of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Saawariya" yesterday.This is organised by the Indo-American Arts Council, opened on Wednesday with a red carpet welcome for actors and directors, including Mira Nair, Milind Soman and Konkona Sen Sharma.

It is a five-day festival and will close with "The Last Lear" starring Amitabh Bachchan and directed by Rituparno Ghosh. Awards in seven categories including best film, best director, best actor and best actress will be announced on the closing night.

And Konkona Sen Sharma is nominated for best actress in ''Dosar'' and Raima Sen for "Manorama Six Feet Under" .

directors Rituparno Ghosh and Buddhadeb Das Gupta are expected to attend the closing night ceremony. The film festival aims at raising the profile of the South Asian film industry outside India and one of the biggest film festivals of South Asian films outside India, the event is showcasing over 50 Indian independent and diaspora films over five days.

Konkona's multiplex film “Chai Pani etc.” was released in 2004 in which she play double role as Shanti & Radha Joshi . Now this film is short-listed for the International Independent Film Festival.to be held this coming week in Brussels.
Written, directed and produced by Delhi-based Manu Rewal , film struggle against censorship for seven months soon after it was made.This film will be shown at Brussels between November 6 and 11 alongside Mani Ratnam’s much talked about “Guru” and Rituparno Ghosh’s “Dosar”. It is also credited with being the first “non-Bollywood feature film”.
Konkona's very first film Amu was released yesterday in DVD after two years of unofficial release and now this “Chai Pani etc.” For me I have to wilt for her films DVD release like "Amu" , "Dosar" and now "“Chai Pani etc.”

Next moth release "Aaja Nachle" is another exciting film for me ! Madhuri Dixit come back after 6 years, strange casting with never-dance Konkona Sen Sharma in second leads.

This film is about a theatre actress who protest her career start point "Ajantha Theatre".Madhuri plays a character named ‘Dia’, a theatre director, who returns from abroad to India. Dia plans to direct a play in the slum area and she chooses the famous Indian romance epic ‘ Layla and Majnun’. Madhuri has shed oodles of weight and the actress will be seen directing Konkona Sen as ‘Laila’ and Kunal Kapoor as ‘Majnu’ in the movie. Quiet interesting , right?

My most waited scene is Konkona dancing beside Madhuri and how will she have to manage it. Anyway this will be seen end of next month , moreover the songs of Aaja Nachle itself looks nice and listen worth.

"Laaga Chunari Mein Daag" is a good film but not outstanding !

Today morning I am so nervous for "Laaga Chunari..." and I choose the earlest show on 12:15. The film starts very exciting with the two new promos of "Aaja Nachel" and "Roadside Romeo" . Start of the film is my favourite "Hum to Aises...." and the whole sequences are very well done. For the first part Konkona role is too small and she just paly the duty less youngest in family. Start from the second part this film become more interesting , Konkona looks so beautiful and gorgeous. But I think this film plot is too lose and have a man-made (unacceptable) happy ending. Anyway the performances are very nice from three leading ladies through the film but the I don't like the ending . But this film is real Bollywood Commercial style and I hope this will done well at boxoffice. Anyway you should go and watch this film for the performances and Konkona new look.

Pradeep Sarkar's "Laaga Chunari Meing Daag" is rumoured the remade of K Balachander's 1977 film, "Aaina", starring Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz since the first trailer is released.This film is about a small town girl became prostitute to feed her big family and the director Sarkar claimed that he had not even watched the film.

But now another rumour comes out ! "Laaga Chunari..." closer resemblance to the Marathi film, Doghi (1995). Directed by Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukhtankar, the film stars Renuka Daftadar (playing Rani's character) and Sonali Kulkarni (playing Konkona's character). Doghi, meanwhile, is about two sisters. The elder sister takes to the streets in order to protect her younger sibling, and also care of her family. For this fact Pradeep's answer is interesting -

"I won’t say it is based, but it’s kind of inspired, though I haven’t seen the film, but I don’t think we have many similarities. I have admitted that it’s been inspired by the Marathi film, but not Aaina ."

Anyway the rumours come out in film industry is not a strange condition. But time to consider is not much far ! This Friday ! You go watch and enjoy the talented acting of Konkona, Rani and Jaya from "Laaga Chunari...."!

“Yes, I know Vidya (Balan) was supposed to do it, and she pulled out. To be frank, I’m glad she did, because I got to do a great role,”

For this statement I feel that she definitely get a good role in this movie. For me I personally love Vidya for her innocent beauty and cute face. But for performance Konkona is my favourite any way Mr. Sarkar will not get any regard for replacing Konkona to his muse Vidya !

Next week will be the most excited week for me. Even though I will not free for the whole week , just think about my Friday Movie time will make me refresh ! Next week will release the much awaited "Laaga Chunari Mein Daag" , But I am a bit afraid for the next big release "Bhool Bhuliyaa" ! And I need to worried that will Konkona get a good enough role for her talent. Anyway the time for decide is not too long and I think both film done well (I love Vidya Also ! )and Konkona have a god comparable role with Rani and may even get some awards for this movie.Hopefully !

I feel a bit unpleasant for the promos of "Bhool Bhulaiya" title song . The gypsy half-naked girls dance on the body of Buddha Statue ! I think this is too rude and no respect for Buddhist especially for this scene. We all have great respect to our respect Gods .in all religions . This song designer is really want to have so much fun and he even cannot take note on what he is doing .Surely he is not Buddhist but this is religious insult. I think Mr.Priyadarshan should take care for this religious matter even he want this Hindi Horror Movie . The Ghosts , Hindu, psychiatrist and Buddha has no connection and I cannot catch up your Idea of creating this song.

This is the season of sequel in the cinemas. For now Anurag Basu plans the sequel to his super hit movie "Life in a Metro". We all have amazing watching time of Metro for all : about the actors , music and script. And Konkon and Irrfan pair had already the most favourite part of the film.
India Time article about this sequel. Mr. Basu says that -

"When I made Metro, the sequel to it was at the back of my mind. In fact, when I wrote the script, I wrote so much that it could have easily gone into two films. I ended up using only 25 per cent of it in Metro — the remaining was for the sequel. Now I’m improvising on it. Moreover Metro is not just a happening city; it’s also a showcase for changing lifestyles."

Another interesting question is "The original starred Shiney Ahuja, Shilpa Shetty, Kay Kay Menon, Kangna Ranaut, Sharman Joshi, Konkona Sen Sharma and Irrfan Khan; will he retain the same cast in the sequel?"

Mr. Basu: “I’m not sure about the rest, but Irrfan and Konkona will definitely be there. And I’m also going to use another band in this movie since the concept was such a hit in the original,”
